I'm brushing my teeth and showering more. I'm eating more. I've been trying to start a routine. I want to get better. I'm trying my hardest. Really. That's progress right?

As an update, i brushed my teeth this morning AND tonight which is a lot for me when I've struggled even doing it for weeks. AND I took a long shower and really got clean! I know for some thats basic hygiene but it took a lot for me.

yes i’m so proud of you! but please remember that progress is not linear and if the motivation goes away for a while, that’s still okay! the fact that you WANT to get better means everything. sending love 🩷

Thank you! I want to finally be able to go out and enjoy life instead of rotting in bed. We only live for so long and I've spent so much suffering. So I'm finally trying to take control of my life again!

Seriously thank you everyone for the support! I've never had people care about me like this and it genuinely making me so happy to know even strangers are proud of me!

Baby steps. It might sound counterintuitive, but if you feel like you’re in a rough place, don’t try to “fix” everything all at once. You might feel great for few days but then go right back to the way things were bc you just used up all the energy you had. Just try to improve one thing at a time and be proud of yourself. Rooting for you!!

It's been tough. I take one step forward and 5 back sometimes. I don't want this disorder controlling me so much anymore. So if I sacrifice a clean room for a shower or sacrifice brushing my teeth for at least eating something, I feel like thats something

a motto i’ve been trying to live by is “something is better than nothing”. a small, unhealthy meal is better than eating nothing. a quick shower or just using mouthwash instead of brushing your teeth is still SOMETHING and it counts as something. sometimes ive found that looking at things this way helps me to get things done when tasks feel too big, i remind myself that there are ways to make them smaller and easier to get done

Thank you. I've been taking small steps to work on myself. And I've been clean for about a month too so that motivates me more. I feel like I'm not so broken anymore because I have the motivation to even TRY getting better

that’s awesome! i know im a stranger but i genuinely am so proud of you because i know how hard it is to take care of yourself when your mental health is struggling. don’t feel bad about celebrating the “small” accomplishments, its the only way to keep yourself going sometimes 🩷
