Has anyone ever felt worse after talk - therapy? Like that talking it an saying it like has made you feel more upset ? This has been my hesitation about therapy because this can happen to me

Sometimes but over all it’s worth it. Until you heal from it, seeing any kind of reminder can make you feel worse, ya know? So blaming the therapy isn’t a good option, because yeah you’re bringing it up again and ofc you’ll feel worse but talking through it and having someone believe you will be very worth it in the end

Honestly, cognitive behavioral therapy seems to be great. It really helps you change perspective and patterns as you speak about it rather than ONLY speaking about it

I like to call it a therapy hangover. Whenever I get done with a session I tend to feel more anxious, and overwhelmed, because something that was said In session stuck with me and hit a trigger point. That means it’s important to me. Completely normal, remember to practice self care after a session!
