DAE feel like they wouldn’t be nearly as depressed, anxious, stressed, or insecure if they weren’t living with their parents?? I swear just being around my family sometimes just drains my energy. And I can’t even express myself without criticism.

no question. feel like I didn’t really get to start living my own life until after I got enough distance from my parents—moving out was a start, but I didn’t get to “grow into myself” until I reached a point where I no longer had to make decisions based on what they expected of me

^this. But moving out was a start. If there’s any way for you to achieve being in a separate environment as much as you can, it may be a baby step, but it can have a monumental effect on your mental health

well-said—I think the important part is just securing whatever autonomy is available to you for the time being, and remembering that you have improved mental health to look forward to (even if it’s not an immediate thing, and even if surviving on your own turns out to be a struggle)
