Maybe it would help to be transparent with them. You don’t have to give them all the details but maybe letting them know certain things you struggle with, as well as signs you’re starting to get bad (so they’re aware and less likely to take anything too personal). From my experience, it’s always bit me in the ass never telling anyone what’s going on. I just look like a self-destructive person who doesn’t care about anyone but herself (when really I’m isolating in my room cause I’m scared).
