This isn’t to take any of the attention away from those at the front end of all of it. I’m saying we’re all on the same chopping block, just one notch safer. So you protect those at the front of the line, knowing you’re next. It’s insane to think we’re going to be the ones doing the chopping. we’re all brown, that’s all they see

My cousin, literally born and raised on the island, is one of those. It’s crazy to me. Like, does he not get that when they demonize Mexicans, that’s just the brand name for literally all of us? Our citizenship isn’t some kind of hall pass to be “one of them”. We’re not gonna be “one of the good ones”. No amount of turning our backs on the Hispanics most in the line of fire will make us be seen as “real Americans”. We’re brown, and as such, they are certainly talking about us too.
