Idk if other Cubans agree here but although I hate the dictatorship in Cuba and the champagne socialists here who love bootlicking it, I hate also the Zionist and magatards that use Cuba as their excuse and example against the left. Idk where i stand

Not a cubano myself but I think it’s important to differentiate between boot licking leftists and just regular old democrats who like Nordic welfare models. That being said, I hate both conservatives who try to conflate socialism and communism AND champagne lefties who boot lick Maduro, China, and Cuba as some sort of paradises of their ideology.

The only country on the hard left (even though economically they aren’t even lol) I see as worthy of at least respecting is China because because they have in fact done insane advancements in terms of the material well being of their people and country

We are in agreement than brother. Im definetly on the left as clearly a social democracy is the closest thing to a functional society in this day and age. What the right has done to the US and the world has failed us all. I just can’t like a lot of hard leftist in America they are so cringe and hypocritical a lot of times, supporting any “lefty” government even if they are terrible and don’t even follow through on their own principles like in the case of Venezuela

Theyre also pretty much always extremely out of touch with working class people like in the case of people Hasan Piker, like genuinely how is this guy so not self aware of who he is and how he does not connect with any working class person. I still stand that Bernie sanders would have been the best presidential candidate though and is the best American politician we’ve had in recent time

China has done tons to improve the lives of the Han Chinese ppl but they’re undeniably a capitalist market economy that just happens to make the government own a large part of companies. And more importantly while they’ve improved the lives of the Han Chinese they’re horrendous to ethnic minorities like the Uyghurs and even Tibetans including slaving large swaths of those populations. So while a lot of the country has experienced unprecedented growth and improvement others are severely oppressed

So even the Chinese government I don’t find one that leftists should uphold as a model of anything.
