Use a shield, I’m old school and refuse to use it in anything but hardcore

Unironically, play like EVERYTHING will kill you. Prepare for a lot of slow grinds for progress.

Die. A lot. Seriously though, it takes a few tries to get the hang of it, and it really is a matter of actively saying, "Can this thing kill me? Yes? Then I leave and do something else or approach this a different way"

I don't tend to play hard-core much differently than I do regular minecraft at this point. Took a lot of dying to get there, but hey, that's how you learn

Yes! And imo also about assuming EVERYTHING can kill you for a while
