if renovating villages isn’t fun for you just don’t? move your house, give it lore for why it’s unkempt, anything other than forcing yourself to play the game in a way that isn’t fun for you. it’s a sure fire way to burn out. i love renovating villages but hate building automatic farms, killing animals, and building in realistic styles, so i don’t do that. if it’s a long term world you can always leave it until you have an idea on what to do with it
