A mix of some servers setting spawn to 0,0 , the fact that world spawn tends to be fairly close to 0,0 , and I think some older versions used to have spawn at 0,0?
Not 100% sure the last one is true so take it with a grain of salt

I think it's a misconception that you spawn at (0,0) ...I always spawn a few dozen away .

Anyways, for anyone coming to the comments looking for how to find your spawn point (and therefore spawn chunks for farms)
Break your bed and a compass will lead to world spawn.
Or if you want the fun way, break your bed and jump into the end portal

my world is from 1.16 so it would have to be older than that. i did put it into chunkbase to see what world spawn would be if i made it today and world spawn was estimated to be 0,0 so they might have standardized it at some point

The game generally tries to spawn you around 0,0, but if terrain generates that impedes your spawn point, it’ll move further away.

this makes sense thank you! 0,0 is the middle of the ocean in my world
