As an umpire myself (that would consider himself better than CB), I think unfortunately a bad umpire is just as much a part of the game nowadays as a baseball field with a short porch or massive wall. Do I think they need to be better to be professional umpires? Yes Do we still need to be able to live with the bounce? Also yes
