i mean in 2022 judge won it over ohtani? the truth is 9 times out of 10 a two way player’s more valuable than “just” a position player/pitcher and im sure writers will vote accordingly if someone other than ohtani proves more valuable
Again how tf is any NL player supposed to compete with a player that bats and pitches? Like how is it good for Baseball to have the same player keep going back-to-back-to back-to-back in MVP’s

if anything you could say the same about pitchers vs position players in mvp races if your point is that there’s amazing players that don’t get the award because of ohtani. unless a pitcher has a hof caliber season they aren’t winning the mvp over a great, but maybe not the same level of greatness, position player that plays almost every day and in a way “contributes more” to the team

how about the AL race? that’s a similar situation with judge the past couple of years and there was the whole thing with raleigh last year. ig with the injury things are different but judge was def a favorite to win again, would you say that’s bad for baseball?
