My friend and I are having an argument. Does the average male pitch three outs against the Rockies with the best fielders before they give up 100 runs?

100 runs with best fielders? Easily. I think even if u assembled a lineup of Mays, Williams, Griffey, etc. they could do it. 11+ times thru the lineup and someone’s gonna ground one to short or fly out to the track.

pitching well is very, very difficult and takes years of training but anyone with a decent arm/aim could get 3 outs, maybe without even giving up a single run if you’re lucky. look at all the times that position players are put on the mound when their time is way behind in scoring. they’re not throwing heat or anything with crazy movement, but they get a lot of outs on balls put in play from hitters swinging for the fences.

How many runs do you think they are giving up. I mean we talking like little to no pitching experience and really only a slow fastball for there pitches

that is to say they’ll probably score some on you but if you’re very lucky and the defense behind you is solid, maybe you get a few pop ups or ground outs to the infield first. either way you’ll get 3 outs well before they reach 100

It very well could be 100 but it also very well couldn’t be, I feel like it’s such a nuanced question. But I think they put up about 50 on average
