I like it. They need a shutdown inning in the worst way. Usually that’s the 9th but now it just happens to be middle innings
They did the same thing in game 6 of the NLCS last year too
Yeah it makes sense. Can’t close out the game if the score is 10-0 marlins. Gotta keep it as close as possible and worry about who’s gonna close it out if/when you get there

I honestly love unconventional pitching moves in do or die games. Closers pitching in the fifth inning, starters pitching in the eighth or ninth on three days’ rest, it’s fun
