this kind of movie discussion is lame because you’re calling something “overrated” based on this arbitrary line that you make up. you’re insisting people are wrong for liking something more than you did and then don’t articulate why you feel that way

“somebody needs to SAY” no they don’t. calling something overrated is saying basically nothing it’s not some bold important statement. there’s a reason these movies are acclaimed. they spoke to a large audience. it’s fine not to like a movie that others do but to shit on the people that do without elaborating is lame as fuck.

Unbreakable and Sixth Sense are both phenomenal movies that are far from “arthouse nothing burgers.” Same with Mulholland Drive.

I haven’t seen those first two. Those just sound like generic, maybe ok Bruce Willis movies. Mulholland Drive is just nothingness with constant lesbian sex scenes to keep audiences engaged.

Unbreakable is a perfect movie imo. Its shot phenomenally, the themes are strong and shown in both a visual and written way, and the acting is perfect. Sixth Sense is just a masterpiece, can’t really say more than that. Both movies deserve a watch before being declared “generic” or “overrated.”

If thats all you got from Mulholland Drive thats on you, I think that movie is one of the most thought provoking I have ever seen.
