
I guess it is interesting how many Lynch movies (and there aren't that many) have the murder, abuse, or psychological dissolution of a woman as a central plot point. I mean I don't think Lynch revels in violence the way some popular directors do.. I think his films and show are engrossing because of their convoluted plots, air of mystery, mindfuck symbolism, incredible cinematography and attention to detail, all of that. Um. American culture is too violent in general. But idk i agre w green flag
For me, when it comes to something like Blue Velvet or FWWM, yeah they can be mean films, but like, the world is mean. It’s like they’re entirely dishonest portrayals of what happens in the real world, terrible things are happening all around us all the time. Not to say that you can’t still have a discussion as to why he likes his movies, if there is cause for concern
