I don’t really give a shit about what race any of the actors in The Odyssey are, but it is kind of distracting when so much of the cast is made up of recognizable faces that have already been in big movies like this

I can’t get over the bland costuming and modern dialogue😭 but in all honesty I have yet to see it so I’ll see if my opinion holds once I do

Why did no one bitch about this from literally any of the past 4 Nolan movies.

Ever wonder why popular A-list actors are always put in every single movie being released now? Because they are pedophiles that feed into Hollywood.

I do. Why is Helen of Troy a sub-Saharan African?

brother I hate celebrity worship and consumerism and billionaires more than anyone I know irl but if you don’t think the reason why they put A-listers in big budget movies isn’t simply because the big studios think that name recognition is the safest bet for returns on their investment than idk what to tell you lol

the ancient greeks (homer, etc) romanticized africa. it was said that the gods dined there. there are artworks depicting greeks and africans together, it would make sense for greeks to idolize african beauty at the time. also, the actress is just objectively beautiful and ethereal, you’re just racist and can’t see beauty unless it’s euro-centric 🤷‍♀️

Good point, but why do you think they were able to make it big in the first place? Not all of them are actually good actors/have special talent.

correct! some of them just have marketable faces. instead of trying to twist yourself into a logic-pretzel into thinking every single person who’s ever been in a movie a pedophile, try focusing your attention and energy on the real, documented cases of abuse that went unpunished

That’s not really where I am getting at, sorry if you misunderstood. But I hope we can agree that no decent normal human being wants anything to do with Hollywood, just like how no decent normal human being wants to be a politician.

then why isn’t every single character in the movie being played by someone who’s Greek or of Greek descent? you can’t “erm actually” when your argument makes no sense anyway lmfao

thats an over generalization. plenty of people just want to make it in hollywood and get recognition for years of hard disciplined work (that usually doesnt pay much for small roles) and are deeply inlove with performing. it doesnt make everyone some secret predator. same goes for politicians, many of them truly do want to help their community and wantinf some recognition for that doesnt negate that intention. its human to want to be praised.

also, maybe you just think there are no decent normal human being politicians because america keeps voting for the same white assholes to be in positions of power while the politicians who became politicians because they themselves come from marginalized communites and want to HELP are demonized by the media and called domestic terrorists. idk just a thought

But does being in love with performing and liking their acting job come before moral character? Even if they don’t commit those crimes themselves, they still very much know that pedophilia and abuse is happening in Hollywood, and they stay silent about it because that would cost them their job. They are given those big roles and cast in too many movies because it is a bribe to keep them from exposing the pedophiles. Moral character and speaking up should come before your personal recognition.

Yeah 100% the clowns in power need to be removed. But to think that a politicians actually want to help out of the goodness of their heart is just naive and quite laughable tbh. If you’d like to discuss this further feel free to dm me. But I can’t have it in my heart to trust Hollywood and Washington DC.

plenty of people in the industry have spoken up against sexual abuse and harassment. its hella invalidating to ignore the people who DID risk their careers, reputations, and lives 🫶🏼 and i didnt say that politicians want to simply do it out of the nature of their hearts… i said that although recognition and financial gain can be significant motivators, it doesnt negate that some politicians do genuinely want to help their communities and i said its human nature to feel these things.

Yeah except no where in my prior comment did I invalidate those that do speak up. In fact, I am literally on your side that the people that did speak up were blacklisted, reputations ruined, etc. But that further proves my point that is why so many of those in Hollywood are in it because if they do speak up then their career is at risk. Otherwise they would not be cast in movies anymore. Do you see where I am getting at? If not that’s okay, just seems like you misinterpreted the point.

I was telling the truth that Hollywood is a greedy, lying, industry full of sexual harassment and pedophilia and that the people who are a part of it are in it for a reason. It seems like you don’t believe that is real which is really wild. I am a woman so I am definitely sensitive to pedophilia and those who stay silent about it or even defend it.

The Greeks knew about Ethiopia. In fact, their name for the country (Aethiopia) came from a Greek word meaning “burnt face.” They even glamorized it and viewed it as a place rich in gold and beauty. Does that sound Sub-Saharan enough for you? 🙃

The people complaining about Lupita and Zendaya aren’t upset at Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway because they are racists. “Historical accuracy” is what they hide behind.

She was hatched out of an egg, who cares? And I mentioned the historical background because Black people were indeed in Ancient Greece. She is African because she can be (historically speaking), and because the director decided to make that decision. It seemed to be a good decision and I love seeing all the support this movie is getting from everyone. :) And don’t worry, you’ll never find me in your DM’s. Keep dreaming though!
