Maybe I don’t know ball but there’s no monster or anything in back rooms lore. It’s literally just a maze with ambience right?

Yep and they’re using only the original lore, which only talks about the general feel and a vague mention of something being there too. This is either gonna make or break the movie depending on how they handle this lack of information.

To quote the picture above “God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you.” So direct reference but definitely a mention of something.
