I think there’s a non-zero chance that Bizarro comes back, but Superman’s never really had the strictest no-killing rule. He’s not Batman. I don’t think Snyder understands Superman on the basis of the rest of the Snyderverse though, not just because he killed Zod.

I think Snyder didn’t understand Superman on the basis that he made Superman a mopey-ass wannabe Jesus with no humanity, made him let Pa Kent die for literally no reason, wrote Pa Kent like the kind of guy to be like “no Clark, you should’ve let the other children drown” like some kinda psychopath, I could go on about how Snyder tried to make Batman and Superman the same dude by changing key things about both but we’ve all had this argument a million times. I do think killing Zod is fine though.
