I’m not sure if you are just incapable of grasping the most basic messages in movies or if you have trouble finding humor in a movie that is completely tailored towards Tim Robinson’s fans. The message was simple and very clear regarding socializing and navigating friendships as an adult. I would say it’s definitely a depressing movie, but that’s the point. Tim’s character is pretty much built as someone who is trying to act human. It’s a simple plot, not bad, but not great.
the purpose of movies in general is not to deliver a message. many of the greatest movies simply tell a story, provide an experience, entertain, explore mood. the purpose of a movie is 100% dependent on the filmmaker. i mean it’s dramatized for comedic effect. and male loneliness doesn’t just take one shape. but regardless it’s just a funny movie.
