And both are correct. your allowed to like bad movies your allowed to dislike good movies. But you do need to be able to go “I like this movie, but it’s kinda crap.”

Cool As Ice was so good. Hits every cliché, cool motorcycle, pretty girl, and is a love letter to everything '90s people pretend to hate

Ok but OUATIA is genuinely a 5/5 movie either way. Like it’s actually that good

If you try hard enough you can overanalyze most movies enough to make them sound “flawed but good” (to at least people who haven’t seen the movie) at the expense of a review sounding a little pretentious

Easiest example for me is Bloodsport… “schlocky 80s action movie with shitty acting” can be spun as “arguably the healthiest depiction of masculinity in a major action movie, entertaining fight choreography which inspired UFC 1, and excellent atmosphere including a kickass soundtrack and arguably the perfect setting (with a bonus of rare footage from inside Hong Kong’s Kowloon walled city)”
