For those who think Henry Cavill’s Superman is just “Homelander with black hair” what genuinely makes you believe that?

Zero awareness of collateral damage, probably done comparable damage to some of his foes. Obv they’re superhero movies so we need some cool explosions and all that but it can definitely be excessive. Lack of action in certain instances. Doesn’t go out of his way to save civilians.

Zack Snyder never let him feel human. He gave people hope because of the awe of his power, not the awe of his actions

The damage was done by Zod who kept pushing Superman into buildings. And into the “he doesn’t save civilians” you see him throughout the movies saving people, he saved his classmates on the bus, he saved the workers on the oil rig, the whole reason he flew up into Zod’s ship was the destroy it from killing everyone, and you see him saving people in BVS too, like the people from the flood, the boat stuck in the arctic, he saves some day of the dead celebrators from a fire

Every big superhero story, especially Superman stories have cities being destroyed and people dying. Happens in the Superman and Justice League cartoons, happens in the MCU, happens in TDK trilogy, happens in the FOX X-men movies, happens in the same rami movies

The difference between Henry Cavill’s Superman and Homelander is that he’s saving people because he’s a good person, Homelander is only doing it to look good. And before you bring up Zod, Zod was a bad guy and killing him was the only choice Superman had, Zod was trying to kill a family taking shelter, Superman pleaded with him to stop, Zod wouldn’t so Superman had to kill him. Homelander kills people just for the fun of it

I rewatched the Dark Knight trilogy last month, and I know there’s a lack of collateral damage, especially on Batman’s part, and especially compared to the scale of Man of Steel’s collateral damage.

now i don’t think he’s homelander, and i think there were moments where he really shined but his adaptation felt like it was missing heart

Agreed. There’s a lack of an optimistic tone. Any optimism that exists doesn’t feel genuine and feels tacked on, rather than being an essential aspect.

I mean he’s obviously not homelander but the writing is just weird. He is definitely part of the problem in the damage he does and he doesn’t seem too concerned with collateral damage. In man of steel his dad literally tells him that he shouldve let his class mates drown instead of revealing his powers

In The Dark Knight Rises Batman lights a building on fire in the shape of his symbol, and he blows up a building to fly through with the bat. In Batman Begins he drives through road barriers, and drives on top of roofs of buildings

First off, that’s one of the supports of a bridge, not a building, where nobody else would be under threat of the city getting McNuked. Second off, all those examples, including the first, are less damaging than Supes punching Zod through multiples buildings in a single punch.

Superman wasn’t the one throwing Zod into buildings, Zod through Superman into buildings. And you said “there wasn’t any collateral damage in TDK trilogy” but when I showed you there was you said “well it’s not as bad” also I forgot to mention that Batman helped to derail a train into a building at the end of Batman Begins

Regardless, Superman still has the ability to prevent many of the other instances of collateral damage in the Metroville fight, especially including the gas truck and the Wayne satellite. Second off, I said “a lack of collateral damage,” not “there wasn’t any at all,”you disingenuous bum. Third, the train was empty and could not be stopped since the controls were destroyed by Ra’s Al Ghul, which is why Bats preemptively sent Gordon to take down the rail support with the Batmobile.
