Obviously nobody can know for sure but I think he would’ve shot into the stratosphere post-dark knight and never touched a superhero movie again

I disagree. I think with the success of the MCU it made super hero movies not feel like beneath actors anymore kinda like how horror movies can get amazing actors cuz they have gotten so popular and well written
