Galinda was also a very complex character who changed a lot over the course of the film, arguably more than elphaba. Liking her is a valid take

Anyone who says Galinda didn’t change is missing part of the story. Both characters learn and grow, and both are essential to the biggest point.

So true. Nothing wrong with Galinda though, but gotta take Elphaba’s side

yeah liking a character is different from liking a person. sometimes you like a character because their journey was emotional or engaging for you to watch. as a more extreme example than galinda i really like walter white from breaking bad as a character

i think galinda has a compelling story yes but she did not change and in this case i’ve heard people say she’s a good person when she’s literally not and that’s the point of the movie 💀but i mean nothing wrong with enjoying her story

“girl in the bubble” exists. like. literally a song about her realizing her wrongs and just bc it took her longer to turn better doesn’t mean she didn’t change. she literally sang a song with the lyrics “changed for the better”, and elphaba entrusts her to change the world as the grimerie opens up to her

realizing your wrongs and actually changing are two separate things. we never saw her actually change in the movie or musical and if i remember the song literally says i don’t know if ive been changed for the better but ive been changed for good. so 🙃
