Why do old movies make me feel more emotions than more current movies?

because new movies are usually bad, whereas if you've heard of an old movie it's probably because it was extremely good

Old movies didn’t have CGI, superstars, or decades-old IP to sell you on a project. They had to rely on heart.

Because the good older movies stood the test of time and you’re currently alive to see all the good and forgettable movies being released today.

Yeah guess that’s true. And back then they weren’t afraid to hit you right when it hurt and just like the humor better too I guess

old movies absolutely had superstars, they just aren't stars we're as familiar with today

I’m with u but there definitely wasn’t anyone on the same level as we have now. Basically you couldn’t sell a movie to the public based on casting alone (unless it was a shitty Elvis movie).

Yeah I was gonna say they were so many big names in all these old films hell Elvis and Sinatra did movies. But I do agree with him I do think actually having original ideas and not relying on CGI helps a lot

The movies starring Monroe, Sinatra, Elvis, Kelly, etc all still needed well-written plots, good effects, and a talented side cast in order to succeed. These days if something stars Chris Pratt or The Rock it will make money virtually no matter what. Think back to the 80s when action stars like Schwarzenegger starred in dozens of B movies with virtually no plot and garbage effects and would sell the film to audiences purely off of their starhood. You couldn’t really do that 20 years earlier.
