Which complete Avatar cycle do you prefer? Szeto, Yangchen, Kuruk, Kyoshi Or Roku, Aang, Korra, Pavi & NishaWait I’m confused lol do you mean newer content as far as in-universe timeline or newer content as in what they’re releasing to the public bc almost everything we know about Szeto, Yangchen, Kuruk, and Kyoshi comes from the newer content released in their novels but also Roku and Pavi & Nisha would be newer content too
It can be assumed after the release of Vaatu and the connection of the spirit world to the regular world that there was always supposed to be two avatars, an avatar of light and hope and an avatar of darkness and chaos. When Wan & Raava trapped Vaatu all those years ago it blocked the dark avatar from ever being born. It wasn’t until Korra and Unalaq had their showdown where Raava was released and therefore we can assume the dark avatar cycle was reborn - hence why the next Avatar has a twin
Respectfully I disagree. The world of avatar is all about balance and you can’t have balance if one side prevails over the other. It’s the same logic with light and dark side users of the force. One can never truly snuff out the other because that creates imbalance. It makes total in-world and logical sense for there to be a “good” and an “evil” avatar. The “evil” side was simply suppressed until Raava was let free
I don’t disagree with the Avatar portion but giant Star Wars fan here. That’s not like the force. The Sith are explicitly a disease and their eradication is what gives balance to the force. It’s not supposed to be Yin and Yang. The prequels are pretty clear about that portion. And the prophecy with Anakin bringing balance is also true since he does kill all the Sith who at the pint of his death is just Palpatine.
That’s why I said light and dark and not Jedi vs Sith. I was very specific with my word choice for a reason. The prequels are all about the downfall of the Jedi because of their hubris. Sith is bad yes but there are plenty of examples of dark side force users who aren’t Sith. The force and its very essence needs light and dark, hence why we have grey force users. Jedi and Sith are reflections of what happens when the force is abused on both ends of the spectrum. Thats literally what the prequels
I mean, I disagree with the notion of grey Jedi since that’s newer content (or legends content that was never very sensical) that I finds to go against the idea of the force, but I suppose that’s me. Anyways, I do agree with the Jedi downfall being their hubris but in a way of “The New Jedi Order was always the intended existence of Jedi”
No I get that. That’s why the force is so cool because there are people that will never fully accept someone who uses both sides of the force but that’s why I think a true balance of the force is both sides. Light and dark doesn’t mean good and evil - and I think that’s why the Jedi and Sith ultimately both failed because they believe it’s good vs evil when in reality it’s light bs dark and you can’t have light without darkness and you can’t have darkness without light. It’s a balance
He fumbled as the avatar for sure but in a weird way I think him completely botching it almost helped to give him more spiritual enlightenment than any other avatar in history. Like his baseline connection with the spirts and overall harmony of the world is unmatched. I think that by ignoring his duties, he found true balance which is an interesting twist on the whole “avatars are supposed to bring balance to the world”. Instead of balancing the world, he balanced himself
