It annoys me more when it’s all attempts at jokes than when most of the comments are actual reviews bc most letterboxd users are way less funny than they think they are

My account is 50% actual reviews on a movie with at least a paragraph and the other 50% is funny one liners. It just depends how the movie made me feel.

I just don’t see the need to overanalyze stuff. If you quickly talk about how it made you feel that’s one thing but to write w whole ass paragraph or more about how a movie is “revolutionary” or how bad a movie is so bad or whatever. I’m tired of people treating Letterboxd like it’s Rotten Tomatoes.

Okay well people are very much allowed to write whatever they want on their review lmao. People on instagram are allowed to make their account posts exclusively for trip posts, treat it as a casual spam, use it for reels, use it for food reviews, you get my point. There’s no right or wrong way to use social media accounts, why should it bother you so much that someone would enjoy doing a longer reviews for a movie? It’s just fun to write about how art makes you feel, that’s the point of art
