Nolan knows how to make a good movie. As he has proved time and time and time again

It was always going to do well. It was a Nolan movie

inception, odyssey and oppenheimer were his best work. he probably will never make another movie better than oppenheimer

It’s pretty boring and not even one of his top 5 films but I don’t think any rational person thought it was going to flop because he is literally the biggest director in 2026. Oppenheimer was better in pretty much every way. People claiming this is his best film is actually way more cringe than the very few people who thought this would lose money.

dark knight rises and insomnia were weak too. you need to watch all his movies before you make a verdict like that

I did and others did too. That’s why they made so much money 😂

I don’t think box office alone is a good indicator of quality. Look at stuff like Alice in Wonderland (2010)

It’s good enough quality for people who went to see it

Fair enough I guess. Though I don’t think box office success is what a movie should be solely judged on quality wise

Well it was good enough for people to spend money to see it. You may not like it but others did clearly

box office success depends more on marketing than anything else. a movie makes most of its money in the first two and a half weeks. after that it’s on the people that have already seen it to spread the word.

i’m sure it deserves a second watch but i’m not too interested in it at the moment

Yeah what he said. Movies that are wildly infamous nowadays like The Rise of Skywalker were very financially successful due to both marketing and usually name recognition

Id include The Prestige and Batman Begins in the top (and I’d personally bump Oppenheimer - it’s a truly great film, but it doesn’t have the same *something* as his other best IMO)
