I really hope Joel Coen isn’t as bad as Ethan. I know Night Moves was a huge influence on Blood Simple, so he certainly has his flaws. I doubt think he’s nearly as woke though!

Oh lol. Well a lot of the movies on that list were made by communists. The nudity in Salo is performed entirely by adult stunt doubles and that was made by a communist. I think the girl in Poor Things was a real minor tho and Yorgos Lanthimos is 100% a communist. I guess you can’t win them all.

trust me i have my issues with communism, its directly affected my family. im a libertarian leaning market socialist (i have a lot of cognitive dissonance) i like some of yorgos lanthimos’s earlier movies but i watched them before my political and social beliefs fully blossomed

It’s literally constantly praised for its “progressive abortion subplot.” That was apparently the point of the movie when it came out because abortion was typically portrayed as a bad thing in movies, but in fast times, it’s good for the mother.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with watching Pasoloni’s films, or even loving them. He still had a relationship with a 15-year old boy in his final years. If you don’t think that makes him a pedophile, I don’t know what to tell you.
