You really don’t need to see it unless you’re a leftist if you like the director. I’m a staunch traditionalist/conservative who can’t stand most of PTA’s movies, so if you’re like me, you should probably skip it.

I fucking hated the movie, but tbh I didn’t really feel the runtime. It felt closer to 2ish hours than 3 lol.

How come? Was it political?

I mean if course it is. All art is political. But that’s beside the point. I don’t like Anderson’s films most of the time, and this just wasn’t an exception. The pacing and structure is much more blockbuster-y than his other films though, so it doesn’t linger too long at all.

Still, you’re probably closer to the target audience for the film. So the fact that I hated it and still didn’t feel the length, I doubt you will either

I’m not a big fan either and didn’t even watch his last film but figured I should check this one out. Your other comment makes it sound like you just hate it for political reasons, is that the problem?

I mean no. I like lots of liberal movies. Hell, my favorite filmmakers have happened to be liberal. But I just don’t really jive with Anderson’s style. Magnolia and There Will Be Blood are his only truly great films imo and Hard Eight is a solid debut, but I don’t really like his other movies.
