It’s not really a strawman when there’s thousands of people doing this exact thing about this movie. It might not be representative of your personal take, but it is representative of many wannabe culture warriors discussing this particular movie.

I don’t dismiss ANY criticism as bigotry. Just the bigoted criticisms. If you have a complaint with the cinematography, or the writing, or the PERFORMANCE of an actor (NOT the immutable characteristics of an actor), that’s fine. That’s good. But if the whole thing is “Why Helen Black?” then yeah dude I can only really call that like I see it lmao
