i hate tim burton’s alice in wonderland but at least it’s… different? it’s easy to be a little forgiving of it knowing how devoid of personality the newer remakes are, but it’s still such an awful movie imo. never saw the live action 101 dalmations movies (nor cruella), but they seem to be their own movies for the most part.

Except there were only 2-3 good live action remakes depending on who you ask; Cinderella was amazing the costuming, the set design, the dress, the actresses Helena Bonham Carter, Lily James, Cate Blanchett. They were faithful to the story. Then Aladdin, once again they were faithful to the story, and Will Smith might not be Robin Williams but he made the genie his own. And then personally i enjoyed Mulan, idc about her personal beliefs. The story changed for the better.

Don’t even compare the masterpiece of 101 Dalmatians to the goyslop that is modern day Disney live action remakes

You could argue so are the newer ones. I just putting it into a different perspective. I hadn't even seen the animated version of 101 Dalmatians only the Glenn Close / live action one. It was what I grew up on and now i think newer live action movies are going to be that just for the younger generations. Plus despite what people say they aren't all souless cash grabs. A lot of them have good acting, great costumes and music.

i also at first didn't like tim burtons alice in wonderland but i've grown to enjoy it more. i do think the animated version is my favorite though. i kinda think of the tim burton version as a continuation of that

Cruella tho i only liked bc i'm really into fashion and costume design. It's the best part of the movie, Glenn Close however will always be my Cruella.

It’s actually tied for 3 for me but I just grew up with more connections to Aladdin than the little mermaid which is why I said Aladdin but it was also good.
