tension scares me i don’t care about jumpscares but the music and just the endless nature of it. like they just keep running and not knowing WHAT from and the uncanniness of it all

like weapons, infinity pool, evil dead rise, midsommar etc scared me but maybe just cause i grew up online watching these low res yt schlock horrors it affects me more if that makes sense

it’s a really dense story actually it’s just all visual storytelling and slow. obsession is faster paced and a lot less subtle. one style is not better than the other but i think that’s why people are responding so much better to obsession

Maybe to be honest I didn’t like the actors and I just thought it could have gone in a better direction I liked the way they did the actual backrooms that was cool but it felt like the plot didn’t flow that well

Backrooms isn’t even the best movie in theaters now. I’ve seen more than 10 movies better this year than backrooms

to be fair i think they did a good job balancing the contextless nature of the backrooms, there being no plot, and the fact that a studio movie requires a plot to get thru 105 mins. i don’t think there needed to be a ton of plot but what was there worked well, the wrap up dialogue at the end esp

Yeah I thought it was executed phenomenally. I think most ppl that are disappointed just wanted it to be exactly like the wiki fandoms version of the backrooms rather than kane’s. I’m super excited that there’s rumors of a sequel
