What are the odds Toy Story 5 ends with the iPad being “not so evil after all!” and all the terrible parents watching the movie can feel better about throwing technology in their kids faces

It’s very much possible but I predict it’s gonna end with woody using his bald spot to shine light into the iPad’s face, blind it, it’s gonna fall and break and Bonnie’s gonna end up playing with the toys again

The irl gap in-between TS1 and TS3 is 15 years, with Andy going from elementary school age to getting ready to go off to college. It’s been 16 years now since Bonnie was introduced in TS3, and yet she remains roughly the same age. There isn’t a bigger point here I just thought it was interesting

Realistically, the message is probably gonna be something like “technology is great and all, but kids need to have experiences away from the screen as well.” Pretty bland, but fine enough for a kids movie.

God forbid kids play with actual toys and other people. The world is in shambles without IPads lol

And the incredibles was a 14 year gap. I see your point.

Tbh Incredibles 2 probably would have benefited from aging up the characters a bit

So yeah that’s basically it, but the parents are complacent in the film and it shows. This will probably be the closest thing we get to an honest discussion about iPad kids in a popular film. It basically is like “oh well tech and toys can coexist”
