this!!! a filmbro is someone who acts high and mighty about film when they really just watch mainstream american films with very few exceptions like la haine, oldboy, and parasite.

these days though, anyone who shows passion for film, especially if it’s for something “niche” they’re immediately labeled a filmbro. it’s exhausting

I also like to use filmbro on those who complain too much about race swapping and gender swapping, especially if they’re fans of the Dark Knight Trilogy (which famously whitewashed two of the characters).
