No Earwig and the Witch either. Not because it isn’t an inherently hopeful movie but because it’s ass

A little bit of both, it is hopecore. She was always hopeful being impactful in his life and hoping she could change his mind that’s the hopecore but you can’t change what someone has decided from themselves but the end is sweet the letter he wrote for her.

The end was not hopecore tho it’s like the opposite. Did NOT get sweet out of it at all.

That’s your interpretation, but not mine. At the end she was still traveling away from home, in Paris. She might not have gotten the man, but she got what she’d always wanted. The film is hopecore, it’s a hopeful through out but hopecore doesn’t have to end on an everyone wins note.
