Can someone pls tell me what I’m doing wrong? my cuticles keep ending up like this 2 days after I cut them 😭 really trying to get better at my nail prep as a DIY hard gel girly would love some tips!

What I do is cuticle remover then use a cuticle cutter. Then when you’re completely done use cuticle oil. I did mine yesterday and saw a few loose skin pieces so I cut them off to keep it neat… but also a big role is if you pick at your skin around or nails or even bite it :) hope this helped!

Have you tried cuticle oil? Or sometimes I cut them off with little scissors or even when I’m tight on time I just buff them with one of those blocks things

to me it looks like you are using a cuticle cutter like this after cuticle pushing, but if this is what you are using you should be doing that before pushing then using a cuticle trimmer for any extra clean up

I use the one on the right to push and the cutter on the left to cut the cuticles!! 😭 my kit didn’t come with the one in the middle/the one you posted, is that one better?

Thank you! What is the difference between a remover and a cutter? I usually just push them back with the pusher and then use the clipper looping thing on the left

So cuticle remover is this thick liquid that you let sit on your cuticle for a few mins, then push with the pusher, then use the cutter(far left) to cut the excess skin off(be VERY careful not to cut yourself or go too deep into the area around your nails- it’ll cause infection)

Then I say you have the correct tools to do the job. Do you use your hands a lot with water? That also plays a big role in fragile cuticles

Mm not really? Could it be that my trimmers are not sharp enough? Immediately after I do it they look fine-ish (not as clean as when I get nails done at a salon) but like a day or two after they start to peel aggressively like in my picture :(
