O/U 3.5 years before morons are complaining about the refs favoring the Spurs, because that narrative is going to follow every dominant team until the end of time.

Under. I’d say in 3 years Wemby is the most hated player in the league by the same people currently fascinated by his game.

Some of this is straight delusion. Is part of the reason the reffing is made such a big deal of the public eye yes. Will hate come for the spurs because they’re good, probably. However we can all admit the reffing with okc is a little iffy. They can get away with stuff that normally wouldn’t at times and they get favorable calls at times that happens and they make a big deal of it cause this team doesn’t need help

The same goes for the chiefs. The end result is that if the team benefits it’s not their fault but if they play into it for advantage like Shai does on offense and Lou Dort does on defense or the way mahomes plays the sideline or their corners are extra grabby. It’s not wrong it’s just scummy and we can’t punish you for it but we can hate you.

Also mahomes has 1000000% regressed. Hes just not got as much on the feet which is expected as he ages. His decision making is less complete now that he’s running bad systems with bad receivers. He’s just going through the normal ebbs and flows of quarterbacking in the nfl. He’s come down to earth after being an “alien” due to his ability to thrive in a system. Not that he’s a system qb but that the system elevated his play instead of his play having to elevate the system

It’s a timeless formula -Team gets really good -Their games get put in the public eye more -The clips that show bad calls in their favor get cherry picked more and more -Suddenly the league is “rigged” Happened with the Chiefs, now OKC. Nature of social media era dynasties

Watched it happen in real time with Mahomes. “He’s an alien! We’ve never seen a guy who can do this! That was the best play I’ve ever seen!” A few years of being the best team later, and all anyone can talk about is the refs and how overrate he is

Every single team gets away with favorable calls at times. People just hyper fixate on the calls that favor the best teams because they want an excuse to cope instead of accepting that the team is just good.

And literally every single good scorer foul baits. If you get a guy to jump and can get free throws, it’s just good basketball to take advantage and draw contact. The delusion comes in when objectively and measurably, Shai shoots LESS free throws than the average 30 ppg scorer, yet he still gets labeled as a free throw merchant. It’s just hating, and objectively wrong.

Yes he has regressed, but the hate for him started before his regression. It was mind numbing in the 2022 playoff run (highest QB peak of all time btw) where he was hurt for the entire run
