There’s better ways to punish load bearing. All that’s happened is players that get legitimately injured are being punished despite making enough impact to still win end of season awards. The 20 minutes a game thing I like, the 65 games is dumb

Consistency matters, but setting an arbitrary hard number is stupid. If player A averages 35 pts a game and plays 64 games, and player B averages 22 but plays 65, player A should obviously get the award

^^^^ anyone who misses 20 damn games or averages less than 20 minutes probably isn’t good enough to be eligible for the awards anyways. The hard limit is idiotic and doesn’t accomplish anything except making for what might end up being some pretty mid all nba teams

out of curiosity I checked DPOY and there has been 24 who won it under 65, all of them being won pre 1972 basically.
