I mean I personally would be pretty annoyed ngl, you’re talking about something you care about. From his perspective however he probably doesn’t realize and didn’t mean it in that way so I’d just have an open conversation with him, your feelings are totally valid

Depending on my mood I could find that either funny or offensive. He probably (hopefully?) meant to be funny, but it’s valid to feel upset because it could definitely be interpreted very negatively. I agree with #1 that you should have an open conversation about the fact that it upset you. If he’s nice, he’ll apologize and won’t do it again.

I’d ask him how he meant it, that’s something I’d say to my friends after I just finished infodumping as a joke (its reciprocal) because that’s the kind of relationship we have, but I don’t know him

If it was meant as a joke then maybe no?? My bf and I joke back and forth abt our interests, but we try to take into account that “Hey, this person that I really care about is telling me about something they’re really interested in”
