Not really sure where I should share this, BUT, here’s an important safety tip:
If you are EVER caught in a riptide:
1) DO. NOT. FIGHT. IT!
2) Stay calm and relaxed the best you can.
3) Swim PARALLEL to the beach until you’re clear of the tide.
If you cannot swim out of the current:
Float or tread water (to save energy)
Signal for help!

As someone who got pulled into the ocean a month ago and nearly died, absolutely. I only survived because the wind made the waves freak out, and I happened to get pushed back onto the reef

Also!! You can sometimes see them or at least know where they are probably forming because the waves will look unnatural! Either theres no waves in a spot or they will be going in a different direction than the rest of the water! Just ime
