Any tips on how to get yourself to do something important? I get burnt out quickly and everything piles up, sometimes I even miss deadlines bc of burnout.
Do it out of spite, pretend someone (evil orange man for me) wants you to fail (he does bc I’m disabled)

I made myself a “treasure jar” I wrote a bunch of activities and little things to do in the jar like Starbucks or face masks, new book etc…every time I complete a really important task I pick a piece of paper out of the jar.

If you look up opposite action it is a dbt skill that could help. They say negative self talk does not motivate us, so I would discourage that!

someone sits with you and either does their own thing or helps you with whatever you’re doing

They don’t help with the task when body doubling, they either do the thing too (like study while you’re studying) or just sit there. Helping complete it would just be helping lol
