For real! I have to tell my wife so many times to not hear what I didn’t say bc she has a habit of reading into things (unclear on her neurotype but she is def more NT than me). And then gets mad when I ask for clarity, especially when she misspeaks/mistypes something. Like she thinks I can just assume what she means but I can’t bc I don’t want to assume one thing when she actually means another, I want to know what she actually meant!

Ugh yes i remember one time my parents left me home while they ran errands and my mom called me and asked me to take like the chicken or something out to thaw. So i took the chicken out and she got home and was like “why is the chicken out i said beef” and i told her she said chicken and she hit me with “you know were not having chicken for dinner you know were having (insert beef based meal) you know what i meant!” And im like no i just assumed you changed your mind and wanted chicken

Yes like why do you expect me to do the mental labor when you’re the one who made the mistake? Its not like little mistakes like that are a big deal but it is when I’m the one getting blamed for the misunderstanding
