Fellow ADHD folks, how do i consistently get into going to the gym? I hate exercising and time/reward systems never work long term for me. But i need to work out for my health, so what do i do?

Find someone you can go with who really really loves it, so they bug you about it to no end if you don’t go

i know this isn’t helpful but least favorite thing about ADHD is how easy it is to break a good habit no matter how long you’ve had the habit. you miss one class and then you skip the rest of the semester. you are exhausted or don’t have time to workout and then you don’t workout for months. i genuinely feel like i need to hire someone who will make sure i do good habits every day and do them with me

I kept telling myself “YOU WILL DIE UNLESS YOU GO RIGHT NOW GO GO GO YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!!”

Start small. I was doing like 15 min workouts for a couple years before I ever set foot in a gym. I’ve been going consistently ever since (≈13 years)

For like 2 weeks and then you don’t go one day bc life happens and you realize oh shit I’m not dead and all gym sessions start looking really skipoable
