Her awareness of autism is pretty rooted in the 80s unfortunately. She means well but I think in her mind it’s a condemnation of sorts. So instead of thinking abt it she uses terms like “quirky” and “sensitive”, “high-maintenance” and when I lose my footing, it’s bc I’m an idiot and not bc people are confusing.
