My step sister is having issues with her daughter having meltdowns over things and her “not understanding” things and my brother and I who are both autistic are just like 👀👀 at each other bc we know those traits.

Or they could share their insights with the stepsister and let her know how she might be better able to support her kid and/or help get the kid get tested 🤷‍♀️

I agree! I mentioned testing because it can help parents understand that their kid actually has a disability and isn’t just “acting up” for no reason. Testing would also help lead to therapy/behavior counseling My main point was that OP and their brother should help support the kid instead of just quietly laughing

I said “lock in and act shocked” not laugh at them. But yeah no shit they should help in any way they can but if it were me I would try to at least act shocked

I mean I wouldn’t want to act shocked because I would want to help early on and help the step sister, and more importantly the kid to get the help and care and support and that would require not being “shocked” about the condition the kid has
