This is a sign you’re autistic imo

That’s intentional. They do it because generally autists struggle when the phrasing of a question isn’t specific enough or when the answer format is confusing

I don’t understand why people wouldn’t be confused with the wording though? Like I’d need more examples and shit…. Okay maybe I’m autistic ….

Partly yeah but also cuz I’m trans and I can’t deal with that extra piece of advocacy right now

I think just going to get tested will ease your mind a bit. Otherwise your mind will be taken up by whether or not you’re autistic.

Also the reason the phrasing wouldn’t be confusing for some people is because the questions are very general. People can sort of autocomplete what the question in their minds because they can think about it in a way that doesn’t require them to need details. Autists need details. We want to know exactly what the question is asking in full detail so we can give a logically sound response because that’s the only way we know how to think. Hope this clears it up.

Interesting, so most people don’t nitpick details….

Exactly because not everything to them has to be fully logical. This is why autists excel in math. There is always a 100% logical answer with evidence to back it.

Personally, I’m formally diagnosed as autistic and I do NOT recommend getting diagnosed. You already know that you’re autistic and there’s nothing that a formal diagnosis is going to give you except external validation. There are no medications or special therapies that a dx gives you access to, but it does create a lot of issues. You know some countries won’t let you emigrate if you’re autistic? It can be used against you for custody battles in court? That’s not even considering RFK’s nonsense

If you want a somewhat good diagnosis try the Radds-r test. It was proven through a study I think to be the most accurate test that not a diagnosis. That’s what I’m doing bc I’m not trying to be put on any list

No…? Autist is the noun for a person with autism. The r-word would be the derogatory word

I have autism and I use the word autist regularly and people around me use it too. It’s similar to calling a person from Mexico “Mexican” or a person from China “Chinese”.

i’ve only heard autist used interchangeably with the r slur before so it really irks me and i thought that it was only used in a mean way

Everybody has their own experiences with certain words so I understand why someone may find the word offensive. However, it’s generally an accepted term. It’s sort of like the term obese. Some People find it offensive however it’s a scientific term that doctors use regularly.
