you see it with left handedness. it was punished in schools for ages then it started to be accepted and you saw a steady rise in left handed people before it plateaued off. awareness/acceptance will always be followed by what looks like a boom of previously ignored/hated thing, but it eventually evens out to a normal number bc it’s always been there, you can just see it now.

Same with the LGBT community. It kind of goes in waves. Like super big waaaaaaaaay back in the day and then was hated and demonized for a long time and we’re finally getting back to accepting them again. Which is why so many people think it’s “catching” or “on the rise”

Mammograms cause cancer. They smash tissue and shoot me radiation through damaged tissue. Go down the rabbit hole 🕳️

Trans people are as ancient as people.

cannot tell if this is satirical/joke, rage bait, or genuine take. small infrequent exposure to radiation is safe and non harmful, especially since the strength of radiation used in medical scans is very weak in terms of radiation. the techs that operate the machines have to take extreme precautions bc they are near exposure regularly, but a mammogram or other medical scans that occur months/years apart has no/mininmal negative effects.

My mom once had one for a lump that she was really worried about that hurt quite a bit that ended up being a cyst and the mammogram machine popped it for her when it was doing the squeezing. She said it was instant relief from the pain and the mammogram results came back normal too. At least for breast tissue cysts they are a great non surgical intervention to stop pain
