Idk I’ve always been heavily in love with power of friendship/girl power things like Winx, MLP, and Huntrix is in a way like that. Rumi’s character especially resonates with me and I adore the soundtrack. I’ve never listened to kpop before though so I don’t have anything to compare it to in that genre. This movie definitely feels like what Frozen was to me when it first came out, where I think it’s the best thing ever and so do a lot of people but it doesn’t click with each audience member

Okay I have a better answer now that it’s not literally 2 am where I’m at lol. Rumi’s conflict and the demons in general could be seen as an allegory for anything, but I always find myself linking magical/supernatural problems to mental health. It’s uncontrollable, you don’t really know where it comes from, and it can be dangerous to yourself and others. But you still have to learn that you can’t just get rid of it, and you’ll be in a much healthier spot when you accept your flaws and allow -

yourself to breathe and be fully human (no pun intended). I guess you could also say neurodivergence fits in that category, but I don’t think it’s as good a fit. And this is all just how I interpreted it. Stories with magical characters mean a lot to me because I have very intense anxiety and dealt with a lot of bad thoughts in the past, and I still have trouble with them at time, especially when it comes to perfectionism.
