One trick I use that actually works is flipping a coin whenever I’m torn between two unimportant things and doing the thing the coin landed on. The important part is to not second-guess the coin, only flip once, and to NEVER do the opposite thing afterwards. Even if I realize I wanted the other option more post-flip, I still choose the coin’s option, otherwise I’ll end up second-guessing again and wasting even more time on the unimportant decision
Hmm those are a bit trickier. Personally I like to just research as much as I can about the decision so I can better choose a decision logically, but I also put a lot of weight in my gut feeling. Previously I thought following logic only led to the best outcome but I’ve found with time a lot of decisions I made that ended up not working out were ones that conflicted with my gut
I don’t really have a good trick for these though since there are a lot more factors involved. However when it comes to deciding how important a task is I test it by thinking “will this affect me only today, next week, next month, or next year?” I suppose that’s also not really a trick but you’d be amazed how much faster you can make choices when you put them in the right categories
