Concerned for my mental health this fall cause it was so bad last year and now I have more things to stress about. I don’t want to socialize more than I already am with school + job searching, but would it be wise to reach out to a counselor in advance?

It makes sense that you want to preserve your allowance of free appointments; however, it’s a lot easier to get help before things get bad instead of having nobody there when you need it most. Having a good support system in place can save you a lot of pain down the line. Getting help early can also potentially prevent things from spiraling out of control in the first place.

But right now I’m mentally fine and there are limits to how many appointments I can per semester if I go through my college’s services (which are free), so I don’t want those to go to waste
